The Puzzle Builder

You can use the puzzle builder to create your own Tiled Words puzzles. It is an experimental tool that works better on computers than phones. It is rough around the edges and can be difficult to use. I highly recommend watching this video before getting started:

How does the builder work?

Creating a puzzle involves a few steps:

  1. Entering a theme and list of words with clues
  2. Reviewing the auto-generated crosswords and picking one to use
  3. Splitting the chosen crossword into tiles
  4. Rearranging those tiles
  5. Submitting your puzzle for review

What happens after submission?

Your puzzle will not be immediately available for you to play. This can take a while so please be patient. It is just me (Paul) reviewing the puzzles and I have a full-time job and baby.

I will review the puzzle and send you an email when it's live! In some rare situations I may ask you to make changes before publishing.

Please do the following:

  • Close any other Tiled Words tabs you have open.
  • Please let me know if you run into issues. If your streak or saved progress gets corrupted reach out so I can help you fix it.
